The Rules

Ammon Brown |

The following are the parameters by which we will dart out.  We pledge to follow them to the letter unless we don’t feel so inclined.  That is the luxury of making the rules.

1)  One two-page spread of Timeout New York will be chosen each week at random.  By random, we mean throwing a dart at a list of numbers from 10 paces away.  The page number for that week will be posted online for everyone to review and pointlessly speculate as to the activity the next dart will choose.

2)  A day or maybe two later (hey, how well regimented is your life?) we will place the chosen pages on a wall and throw a dart at the pages.  Whatever activity or event the dart hits will be attended by us that week and written up.

3)  If for some reason we are unable to attend the event, be it because the event has passed, there is a major conflict, it is sold out, etc., we will fall back to the event on the other side of the page where the dart pierced.  It will be identified as the one with the hole in it.

4)  The event will be attended with as much gusto and open-mindedness as can possibly be summoned.

5)  A full write up will be posted within a day or two of the event.
